EYE OPENERS GRAPEVINE REPRESENTATIVE (GVR) Prerequisite: This service position requires one year of sobriety and regular attendance at meetings. The GVR will be responsible for creating awareness of the recovery tool called out "Our Meeting in Print" through several means, including, but not limited to: - Keeping the lucite containers on the GV wall shelf supplied with recycled GV issues and subscription forms as well as online subscription information. - Announcing at all meetings the availability of the above materials and subscription information and remind people to recycle their old issues by placing them on the shelf. The GVR will read the handbook provided for this service position for ideas and seek to expand this role as he/she sees fit with consensus from the group conscience. The GVR will lead a meeting once a month by reading a GV published story and using it as a lead for the group discussion. The GVR will order bulk issues and pass them out to the chip people at the last Saturday meeting of the month as a way of honoring those celebrating recovery anniversaries and simultaneously promoting the GV. (Suggestion: write "Happy Birthday from Eye Openers" on each magazine cover.) The GVR will assume responsibility for carrying the message of AA by promoting through attraction the GV publication which exists only through written contributions by members of the fellowship and is financially supported only through its subscription income.
